How to Use AI to Plan a Realistic Week

Use AI to turn priorities, appointments, and constraints into a weekly plan you can adjust.

Give AI your fixed commitments, top priorities, available work blocks, personal constraints, and preferred planning style. Ask for a draft schedule, then correct anything unrealistic.

A plan needs constraints. Include start and stop times, deadlines, energy patterns, travel, and tasks that cannot move.

Do not treat the schedule as an instruction. Move blocks, add buffers, and remove work until the week reflects reality.

Protect the end of the day

Weak: Make me a productive week.

Improved: Plan Monday to Friday around these meetings and three priorities. I work 8:30 to 5, need a 30-minute lunch, and cannot work late. Include two 30-minute buffers.

The plan respects time boundaries and uncertainty.
