Why toy examples never stick

Practice transfers when it looks like the job. Training research keeps finding the same thing: skills carry over when the practice setting closely resembles the work setting, and hands-on practice across varied, realistic contexts strengthens that transfer. Generic demos about pirates and poems don't meet that bar — which is why they evaporate by Monday morning.
