Daily reps that keep your AI skills from fading

Coming soon to the App Store. We will email you the day it is ready.

A game step in the Unscary AI app: “Guess the next card.” A sequence of playing cards, ace of spades, two of hearts, three of clubs, is shown with a blank next card, and four options to pick from.

What the research says

“We conclude that the Ebbinghaus forgetting curve has indeed been replicated and that it is not completely smooth but most probably shows a jump upwards starting at the 24 hour data point.”

“Unlike conventional lecture-based instruction, which typically provides information in lengthy sessions that lead to cognitive overload, microlearning segments the learning into bite-sized units that are easier to proces”

The Unscary AI Learn tab after a break: Grandma, the guide, says “It's been a while, Sarah. I kept your seat warm, and one small lesson starts the week back up.” The week strip shows the current day and a bar of three lessons a week, with the next Foundations lesson ready to start.

Why AI skills fade without daily practice

Memory research is blunt: the classic forgetting curve — recently replicated in modern studies — shows retention dropping steeply within a day of learning something new. Watching a tutorial on Monday and touching nothing until Friday means relearning, not progress. The fix is old and unglamorous: short, repeated practice.

The Unscary approach: reps, not rereading

Every Unscary lesson ends in a hands-on rep — you actually perform the skill on a realistic work task rather than rereading notes about it. Reps are short by design, so a daily session fits into a coffee break, and each new rep revisits earlier skills to keep them warm.

Points, streaks, and proof of progress

Points make each rep feel finished. Streaks make missing a day feel like breaking something you built. And a personal progress report shows the compounding result, week over week. Unscary is an iOS app, currently pre-launch — the waitlist decides who practices first.

Your streak can start before launch day.
